Modelcollect continues their extensive T-72 and T-90 collection once again.

This time, the Russian T-72B3 and B3M variants join the battle.

These tanks are upgraded to near T-90 standards. They're equipped with the same Kontakt-5 explosive reactive armour. However, they lack the Shtora-1 active protection system, and various sights.

Essentially, T-72B3 are downgraded T-72B2 Rogatka, and B3Ms are for…tank biathlons.

The lower hull is unfortunately diecast. The suspension are already pre-attached. Since its metal, it will be very difficult to build a burnt out tank. The torsion bar arms are correctly staggered (in early T-90 MC kits, they were not).

This kit shares the same T-72/T-90 common sprues. You get two per kit. You get two sets of additional sets of wheels. They're meant for the T-90MS and early T-72 variants. Personally, I prefer Revell's running gear from the T-90/A. Those have better definition than these. The tires on Revell's even have ribs. Sadly, the rear wheels are blank, due to its commonality with three sets of roadwheels. I'd recommend using resin or Revell replacement wheels instead.

The tracks looks to be the same as Dragon's material. It is common to all late T-72 and T-90 kits.

PE parts are for turret grab holds, and a commander's MG shield is also included.

Since the T-72/T-90 kits have a lot of common parts. Modelcollect decided to include ALL OF THEM.

You get parts for both early and late T-72/T-90s. The frontal hull is detached, and two are provided for the two types of frontal mudguards. The driver's hatch is open in case you want to put in a figure.

The T-72B3/M turret given is very similar to the T-90S export variant without Shtora-1.

This kit keeps Modelcollect's universal Warsaw Pact decals.

In conclusion: as a standalone kit, it has some minor issues. As a treasure trove of spare parts? It's probably the best bang for the buck. You'll get a full tank, and almost enough to kitbash another.

Recommended as a kit. Highly recommended for spare parts.

Kit is graciously provided at subsidized cost by the manufacturer.
