This small set consists of 4 resin 9x16 wheels and tires, depicting the Dunlop style of cross country tread. The detail on the resin parts is far superior to
the IBG kit wheels and tires. The set provides two front and tow rear wheels - the difference is in the wheel hubs. The only imperfections in my sample were in the wheel hubs, where one
front and one rear hub each had
an air bubble.
The set does not provide a spare wheel, and the tires are not flattened or bulged.
The 1/72 tire chart at mondo.com/tirechart.htm gives the diameter and width of the 9.00x16 tire as 12.4 mm and 3.6 mm. My
calipers need new batteries, but the diameter of the resin tires looks spot on, while the width looked a little skinny at about 3 mm.
(Editor's note: I have this same set. My ancient calipers measure in inches so I can offer the following - the kit's wheel dimensions are 0.50" x 0.13" versus 0.49" x 0.14" in 1/72 scale. Thus the wheels are
a fraction oversize on the diameter & undersize in the cross section. So, it looks like Will's Mk.I eyeball is well calibrated! I should also note that my set is perfectly cast with
no imperfections of any sort that I can discern, which proves if you absolutely want to avoid casting flaws, it's best to get a look at your purchase beforehand.)
Note that not these tires are only appropriate for C15 variants. The C15TA armoured version and C30 used larger 10.5x16 tires, while the C60 used larger wheels and tires (10.5x20).
Recommended for anyone looking to make a big improvement to the appearance of the IBG C15 kits.
