ASU-85
Kit # 72022 Reviewed by Simon Barnes

Currently the only ASU-85 on the market (that I know of) cast in the usual buff coloured resin of all Armo kit and to the usual standard, with my example being free from blemishes or faults.

The hull is cast in one piece with unfortunately all the hatches closed, that is really only the real fault with this kit, the other being the barrel, which is moulded in two parts, the fume extractor and muzzle brake in one piece and the main part of the barrel the other, here lies the other fault, with the lower portion of the barrel being in my mind a little on the thin side and could be improved by beefing it up a bit or replacing that part with styrene rod of a greater diameter.

As with most Armo kits care must be taken when attaching the wheels, to ensure that the correct ride height is achieved, unfortunately Armo doesn't give any indication of what this should be ! according to what I know this should be 5.55mm.

The kit uses the same tracks and wheels as the ZSU-23-4 which are also the same as the PT-76 kit.

The kit measures out well to 1/72nd scale according to my references.
