I took a hull and suspension from a Eastern Express kit, since I've read the review on On The Way that said that it was the most accurate. Unfortunately the design of the suspension on the EE kit was rather poor with the locator pins almost non-existent. The wheels were very hard to line up and it took two tries to get the tracks straight and parallel. The fenders were too thick so I took them off and used thin brass to rebuild them. I used the photoetch engine screens from Extra Tech. Since the turret on the EE kit is of the later type I’ve taken the turret from the Italieri kit. I’ve rounded off the edges to convert it to 1941 turret and simulated the weld lines using the stretched sprue. The turret was also too tall so I sanded off about 0.5mm from it. I used the ARMO 57mm Zis-4 barrel. Several small details early driver’s hatch and tow hooks were borrowed from 1/76 Fujimi T-34.
