This is a simple, fun kit to build until it comes to fitting the tracks. They are waaaay too short! The first fitting caused the axle on one of the idler wheels to snap so these and the drive wheel axles were replaced with brass rod. After getting them to stay together by melting the ends together, the tracks are putting too much stress on the wheels causing a couple to twist. Thoughts of inducing some sag had long gone by this time.

Normally I wouldn't send something like this as I don't think it's turned out well enough but there's no pictures of this Trumpeter model currently in the gallery and none that I could find on the web. It may serve as guidance/deterrent for anyone contemplating this model?

Painting was:
Hull
All surfaces were primed with Halfords Car Primer (Oxide Red). Then the base coat was applied using Humbrol 83. Hairspray Chipping Technique was used followed by a wash of Winsor & Newton Raw Umber #35 and a spot Wash of W&N Burnt Sienna #2. Finished with Xtracolour Flat Varnish.
Exhaust Pipes & Tracks
Painted with an approximate 50/50 Railmatch Roof Dirt/Dark Rust enamels(available only in UK?). Bare metal on track ridge surfaces applied with a 9B pencil.
Wheel & Rims
Citadel Boltgun on Rims. Then a mix of Mig Dry Mud, Europe Dust & African Earth pigments on Wheels & Tracks, etc.
Spare Tracks
Shiny new ones sprayed with Alclad Steel.
