1/72 Models by Peter van Kempen

Edited by Francesco Giovagnorio

A a series of pictures randomly taken from Peter van Kempen's vehicle collection.

Revell Luchs (Linx) armoured car. Built OOB.
A wonderful model that even I can make look good.

Revell Luchs armoured car. Please excuse that the tires do not all
touch the ground due to placement on temporary base.

Revell Tpz Fuchs (Fox). Again the details are stunning.
The UN white is good colour choice. Built OOB.

Revell Tpz Fuchs. The decals also help it to look good.

MAC Mercedes LG 3000 Koffer Ausbau Radio truck. I like
the look of this truck. Sadly the paint was not matt,
so I had to add dust with powder. Plundered my spares
box supply as these trucks need to be cluttered to the
extreme. The rest is OOB.

The MAC LG 3000 again.
Remember, it's only a collection model!

More views of the MAC LG 3000. Some un-filed surfaces will
not win prizes, but picture gives a good view of the vehicle.

Attack Tatra T111 Kundendienst Truppenwagen
Another nice not everyday truck model. Built OOB.

This view shows the length of this vehicle.

Esci Hummel converted into a Hornisse. Yes it's old. Yes,
the Dragon version is better, but I made it! I like it and
will keep it. Horrible tracks are visible. The 88mm Pak was
built from scratch and spares.

Esci Hummel converted into Hornisse. I remember being
thrilled obtaining it and spending a year deciding how to use it.

Revell Panzer IV Ausf. J. I used fine mesh for the skirts.
The rest is OOB. Again, the detail is excellent & good value
for the money.

Revell Panzer IV Ausf. J, front view. You can leave
the hatches open, which helps with realism.

Revell Panzer IV Ausf. J. This side view
shows the result of using fine mesh.

Revell Panzer IV Ausf. J. I know, I made a mistake with the
"auspuff" or exhausts, but then we all make mistakes, don't we?

Attack 150mm auf 38Ton Ausf. H, a model not
often seen. Built OOB.

Attack 150mm auf 38 ton Ausf. H. This shows some details
that are included. Not a bad model at all. Only my
paintwork needs development.

Esci Dodge WC-51 Weapons Carrier kit converted from 4x4
to 6x4. You need two kits, or collect spare wheels. The result
is smashing. This is one of my first conversions in 1/72 Braille.
Did not know about thinning the mudguards then....

Esci Dodge WC-51 conversion to 6x4, back end. This shows the
result of bending some wire for hoops. It's another impression
and costs nothing. At the time the kit was a investment.
It's still a good 1/72 kit now.

Esci Dodge WC-51 conversion, top view. This shows the ROCO
weapons set I used. When you see them, buy them, because
they are good to use for 1/72 scale.

Conversion of (Nitto Kagaku?) halftrack to Israeli version used in
Yom Kippur War and in the previous 6 Day War. Did not really
mind the scale and it's still not offending the neighbours in
my showcase. Not built OOB at all! Soldiers, bits and pieces
all scavenged from my secret stocks. Soldiers came from the
Iwo Jima raising the flag kit. Weapons are Roco.

This view shows the clutter that belongs with this vehicle.
Men are now seemingly leaping on to it.

This view shows the effects of having many men in action
on vehicles. It's a trick but works. Please pardon me for not being
such a good parts cleaner. Speed was of the essence in my
building days back then.
