The Sd.Kfz. 234 was a series of heavy 8-wheeled armored cars produced by Germany in limited numbers late in the war. Originally intended for the reconnaissance role, the versatility of the chassis soon became apparent, and the changing war needs necessitated the construction of close support and anti-tank versions of the vehicle, in addition to the recon and scout cars.

It wasn't until 2002-2003 that modelers were provided with a decent model of these vehicles, thanks to the outstanding resin kits produced by MarS. In 2005, the floodgates opened with the release of three plastic Sd.Kfz. 234/2 Pumas in the same year, followed by several other versions in plastic over the next couple of years. We are now well-served with multiple choices of most versions of this highly successful armored car.
