German engine for Sd.Kfz.251
Kit # B72012 Preview by Rob Haelterman - heman_148(at)hotmail(dot)com

Released in CMK's "Blitz line", this set is meant to fill the void in the engine compartment of the Hasegawa Sd.Kfz.251 (Ausf.D) series. It contains 6 pieces in tan polyurethane resin. All pieces are cleanly cast without any blemishes whatsoever. Very minor cleanup will be required to get rid of minor amounts of flash.

Some assembly is required, which is explained in the small manual. A painting guide is also given.
The set will greatly enhance the engine compartment, but some extra wiring and tubing will be needed to give it a fully authentic look. One of the pipes is mentioned in the manual (to be scratchbuilt by the modeler) but some extra documentation might come in handy for the remainder.

With the advent of the newer Dragon kits for the Sd.Kfz.251, I guess that CMK will eventually release a similar set for these kits (Ausf.C and Ausf.D). In the meantime, I don't think it will be a big deal to get this engine to fit in the Dragon kits. The Dragon kit has the added advantage that the engine bay doors are already separate pieces, which is not the case with the Hasegawa kit. While CMK has PE replacement hatches in its range, these are not included, so the modeler either has to cut open the engine doors very carefully or scratchbuild some replacements.
