Some people buy every single metal barrel possible, whereas others never, ever buy them, prefering to make do with kit parts. I tend to lean more towards the former behavior, although I like barrels that actually improve upon the kit piece. For me, the most useful replacement barrels are those for very small guns such as this one. It eliminates the need to sand off a seam, the end is drilled, which is impossible for me to do on a plastic piece of this small size, and the detail around the muzzle is fantastic, again considering the small size. The scan above is about 300% larger than the original.

This is a superb piece, and I highly recommend it for building the 7Tp Light Tank (from either Mirage or Modelkrak).
